Marcus Leadley at Whitstable Bienale

Marcus Leadley at Whitstable Bienale
Saturday 1st September

This year’s theme was hidden sounds, so most of audio was recorded using hydrophones, contact mics and induction coils. All the recordings, which were made around the location, are combined into a montage/collage soundscape using some self-devised software.  I use a wireless headphone network so you can explore both the physical environment and this altered acoustic space at the same time.

For those of you who didn’t make it, I’ve uploaded about 11 minutes of the installation audio to SoundCloud. No edits, this is the raw output: constantly changing but built around the possible permutations of 42 separate recordings/7-voice polyphony.
