Associate artist Ralph Hoyte, at Sanctum, brings his epic completion of Coleridges ‘Christabel’ – CHRISTABEL-RELEASED – to Bristol over 4 days.

Today, Monday 16th, 12noon to 2pm Ralph also read ‘Hana no Kage/Shadow of a Flower’, his zen-poetic travelogue. A 2005 Arts Council funded trip to Japan to follow in the footsteps of 17th century wanderer poet Matsuo Basho’s ‘Oku no hokomichi’ (The Narrow Road to the Deep North). Sanctum hosts a continuous programme of sound over 552 hours, sustained by performers, musicians and bands in a temporary structure within the shell of Temple Church, Bristol. Sanctum is Theaster Gates’ first public project in the UK, produced by Situations, as part of Bristol 2015 European Green Capital.
